Apple reduces AirPods 2 price to $129 to make the wireless headphones more affordable then ever

After launching the next-generation AirPods 3, Apple has reduced the price of the AirPods 2 model to $129 that makes them the most affordable wireless headphones by the company. However, Apple no longer offers wireless charging support for AirPods 2 case. Previously, the headphones’ non-wireless charging model retailed for $159, and the model with wireless charging case retailed for $199.

The redesigned AirPods 3 come in a contour shape for easy fit and direct in the ear audio. It supports Adaptive EQ, spatial audio, water and sweat resistance for earbuds and case, longer battery life, support for MagSafe wireless charging, and more for $179.

Apple discontinues, AirPods 2 wireless charging case

As mentioned in the product information on apple.com, AirPods 2 now only support wired charging via the Lightning connector only, and the wireless charging case is not offered at $129 price, “Charging Case Works with the Lightning connector”. Powered with Lightning to USB-A cable, the AirPods 2 give up to five hours of listing time and up to 3 hours of talk time and give more than 24 hours listening time and up to 18 hours talk time with Charging case. In addition to AirPods, Apple is also expanding the Beats headphones lineup with mid-high price range options. Recently, in code on iOS 15.1 Release Candidate, images of the new Beats Fit Pro wireless headphones were found. The unreleased headphones have an in-the-ear design like the Beats Studio Buds and will come with a charging case. They are expected to launch in November this year, along with new colorful models of HomePod mini.
