Losing Alice on Apple TV+ will premiere on Jan 22, 2021

Produced by Dori Media productions in association with HOT, the upcoming female drama will have 8 episodes in total. Losing Alice revolves around a mid-life crisis of an aging female director who goes through a journey of loss, guilt and self-realization.

“Losing Alice” is a thrilling cinematic journey that uses flashbacks and flash-forwards in a satisfyingly complex narrative that takes the viewer through the conscious and subconscious of its protagonist’s mind. The series follows Alice (played by Ayelet Zurer), a 48-year-old female film director, who feels irrelevant since raising her family.

After a brief encounter on the train, she becomes obsessed with a 24-year-old screenwriter femme fatale, Sophie (played by Lihi Kornowski), and eventually surrenders her moral integrity in order to achieve power, relevance and success. Through the prism of this female Faust, the series explores issues such as jealousy, guilt, fear of aging, and the complex relationships women have among themselves and each other. But above all, “Losing Alice” is a love letter for the still-too-rare female director.

Other titles coming to Apple TV+ this year are season 2 ‘Dickson’ on January 8, ‘The Snoopy Show’ on February 5, and ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry‘ on February 26. The video streaming service is available across Apple devices via the AppleTV app and on tv.apple.com for $4.99 per month with a 7 days free trial. Subscribers can also enjoy the service for a discount price via Apple One bundles. AppleTV+ is compatible with select Samsung, LG smart TV sets, and Roku devices. It is also available on PlayStation, Xbox, and other third-party devices.
