Apple TV+ signs a multi-years deal with filmmaker, Martin Scorsese

After inking successful deals with producers, actors, and hosts, Apple TV+ has signed on another renowned name, the filmmaker Martin Scorsese. According to Deadline, the Scorsese’s production house, Sikelia Productions, will make exclusive movies and television shows for the video streaming service over several years.

This deal is finalized only two and half months after Scorsese come on board to produce the new ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ movie which is an adaption of David Grann’s non-fiction book written by Eric Roth. Heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio and legendary actor, Robert De Niro will star in the upcoming film.

Known as one of the most influential figures in the American film industry, Martin Charles Scorsese is a producer, director, actor, and screenwriter. His movies encapsulate violence, crime, guilt, and the dark side of humanity. He won the Academy Award for best director for the movie, ‘The Departed’.

Previously, Scorsese has worked with De Niro and DiCaprio on blockbusters like the Taxi Driver, The Irishman, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed, and others. Thus, his partnership with Apple might prove to be beneficial for the streaming service to attract subscribers by offering good quality cinema.

In 2020 Apple has released new movies, shows and signed on many big names to offer more exclusive content. The service will premier the following titles:

Apple TV+ is available for $4.99 per month via Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Apple TV. It is also compatible with third party TV sets like LG smart TV, selected Samsung TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku devices. Users can also access the service on tv.apple.com.
