Affordable and fast iPhone SE is expected to attract Android switchers – Tim Cook

Commenting on iPhone SE’s expected sales, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said that he believes the new smartphone will attract Android users and also do well in mid-to-low income geographic regions. Answering queries at the company’s Q2 2020 earnings call, Cook proudly mentioned the positive reviews and customer response to the new iPhone SE. Thus, as a powerful and fast device at a pocket friendly price, Cook believes the second generation iPhone SE will do well everywhere.

iPhone SE sales in low income geographic regions

When questioned regarding the new iPhone SE’s favorable sales in medium-to-low income regions, like India or South American countries, Cook replied that it could do “even better” in those areas because of its affordability and fast performance. Being “faster than the fastest Android phones” Cook also expects to see a decent number of switchers from Android to iOS.

“It plays in every geo, but I would expect to see it doing even better where the median incomes are less. I’d expect some fair number of people switching over to iOS. It’s an unbelievable offer. It’s the engine of our top phones, in a very affordable package, and it’s faster than the fastest Android phones. It’s an exceptional value.”-Cook

Rejecting the speculations that Apple is trying to capture mid-to-low range market with the new iPhone SE along with high-end models like iPhone 11 series, Cook said that Apple as a company has always focused on delivering the best products at best value.
