OneDrive now natively supports Apple Silicon Macs

After seeding the public beta of OneDrive sync for macOS with Apple Silicon support in December 2021, Microsoft has finally released the update to all Mac users who can now natively run OneDrive on Macs models powered by M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Pro Max Apple Silicon.

OneDrive is a cloud storage service that syncs users’ data across devices, but previously, it did not offer native support for M1 Mac models and was running via Rosetta 2 which did not give the same performance as it does natively on Apple silicon.

Therefore, third-party cloud services have updated their Mac apps to natively run on Apple Silicon like Google Drive or are about to release support this year like DropBox released an internal build for native M1 support in October 2021 and is expected to launch the update to the public in the first half of 2022.
