VisionOS is now compatible with TestFlight app

Apple has updated the TestFlight app to support visionOS beta 1 for Vision Pro.

Apple recently released visionOS SDKs and APIs for developers to create 3D apps for Vision Pro. The company also announced that developers would also be able to use the same foundational frameworks, like Xocde, SwiftUI, RealityKit, ARKit, and TestFlight, which they are familiar with for iOS, iPadOS, and other Apple platforms.

Developers can now test their 3D apps for visionOS in the TestFlight app

TestFlight app allows developers to invite up to 10,000 users to test the beta version of the app and App Clips before releasing them on the App Store. The trial runs of the apps offer valuable feedback on the apps’ functionality and highlight the issues if any.

Now, TestFlight is compatible with visionOS along with iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, and iMessage.

Vision Pro will be available in early 2024 in the United States. Powered by the visionOS and new dual chip system, Apple’s first spatial computer will deliver 3D digital content in users’ physical space like never before which will be controlled with a revolution input system through eyes, hands, and voice.

Reviewers who were fortunate to get a demo at the WWDC 2023 event in Apple Park have commended the headset’s incredible Passthrough technology, intuitive and responsive eye tracking, and lag-free and nausea-free experience.

With the visionOS SDK, Apple has provided third-party developers with a tool to create new 3D experiences. Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations said:

“Apple Vision Pro redefines what’s possible on a computing platform. Developers can get started building visionOS apps using the powerful frameworks they already know, and take their development even further with new innovative tools and technologies like Reality Composer Pro, to design all-new experiences for their users.”

TestFlight app is available on the App Store with a 4.8 out of 5 rating. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Apple TV and requires iOS 14.0 or later, macOS 12.0 or later, and tvOS 13.0 or later, respectively.
