In a recent editorial, TM Roh, President and CEO of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience division, outlined the company’s vision for AI integration beyond smartphones. He noted that upcoming wearables will play a key role in expanding Samsung’s intelligent health offerings, paving the way for more personalized and proactive wellness experiences.
Though Samsung has yet to confirm specific functionalities, speculation is mounting around the Galaxy Watch 7 and the debut of the Galaxy Ring—both expected to launch in the second half of 2024. These devices may showcase the first wave of Galaxy AI tools designed specifically for health monitoring, activity tracking, and user engagement.
Samsung has made significant progress in wearable health tech in recent years. The transition to Wear OS, beginning with the Galaxy Watch 4, unlocked access to a richer app ecosystem and third-party integrations. At the same time, partnerships with medical institutions and research groups have driven improvements in sensor accuracy and data reliability.
With Galaxy AI, Samsung aims to take these capabilities further. The company sees AI as a tool to deliver smarter insights and more meaningful interactions, turning health data into actionable feedback. This could include predictive health alerts, adaptive fitness coaching, or more intuitive user interfaces powered by machine learning.
